Surprising Social Media statistics
Social media is ubiquitous, and there’s no escaping it. Let’s face it – love it or hate it, we spend a significant amount of time every day on social media platforms not only for socializing purposes, but also for shopping, business, or light Facebook stalking.
Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, and others are used every day by people of all ages from all over the world, but the way we use them – and for how long – can be quite different.
There are a lot of interesting things one can glean from looking at our behaviour on social media and the way we use it and incorporate it into our daily lives, and we’re not just talking about your average Joe, either. It’s not just individuals that have a social media presence, now. Companies are on too, each of them fighting for our attention and engagement. And it’s not hard to see why – social media is an excellent tool to drive sales and engagement, so brands are clamouring to meet their audience’s expectations and promote their products.
Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube are changing the way brands are marketing their products, and shaping the way we shop and consume. In many ways, they’re bridging the gap between brand entities and the consumer and offering a way for them to relate.
As you can see, social media has become an important tool for both brands and individuals from many points of view. The related statistics can reveal even more about our habits and what we can expect from social media behaviour in the future. For now, it’s a big, and very influential part of our daily lives and that is not likely to change soon.
