Is ChatGPT Good for Content Marketing?

Is ChatGPT Good for Content Marketing?

Yes and No.

YES, if you know the right approach.

However, if you rely ONLY on ChatGPT, the answer is a big NO.

Hence, it must be a holistic approach combining AI and human touch.

But how? This is what you are going to discover through this article.

Here, we will share a SMART approach to help you produce content faster and get favorable results.

Okay, let’s quickly start!

ChatGPT + Human Touch = 5X Better Content Marketing Results

So, let’s quickly start this to understand this smart approach. Okay, let’s go step-by-step.

What can you expect from ChatGPT for content marketing?

Firstly, always keep one thing in mind: it is a robot – not a human. So, we must be clear with our expectations. You see a lot of creators here and there promoting ChatGPT.

But mark my word – you can’t blindly trust the things generated by ChatGPT.

Here are the areas where ChatGPT can help you immensely:

  • Firstly, Idea generation: Yes, producing content continuously is challenging. Even experts face writer’s block, and this is where ChatGPT can help you immensely.
  • Secondly, fast content production: As an AI model, it can give you many content ideas or produce content in minutes or even seconds.
  • Content strategy: By harnessing ChatGPT, you can create a content calendar or a month-on-mont content strategy.
  • Engagement: It can also give you captions or generate comments to engage on social media.

How to Get Better Response With ChatGPT?

Simple answer: Prompting.

Seriously? Yes, in my experience, this is the most important of all. The better the prompt, the higher the relevance and value of your content.

But how to write a better prompt?

Well, let’s give you a step-by-step plan:

  • The first step is to set up the persona. For example, if you are generating email marketing content, you must train it to think like an email marketer.
  • Next, clearly mention the target audience. Continuing with the above example, you must mention who the email is for. This will give AI a better context, and you get a better response.
  • Then, write about the topic, i.e., what to produce?
  • Now, mention the writing tone and style. For example, do you want it to be conversational? Or professional? Casual? – Clearly mention that.
  • Finally, what are we going to achieve through this content – the goal? I’m talking about the call to action (CTA). Without a CTA, your marketing content will not achieve its desired outcome.

Have you understood the above steps?

Well, let’s simplify it for you.

Again, I will continue with the same example of email marketing…

Let’s say you want to send an email to sell your digital marking course. Now, let’s create a prompt for you. Here you go:

Act as an email marketing copywriter with 10+ years of experience writing conversion emails. You write conversational and persuasive emails that tempt people to take action. Now, write an email for the topic [topic name], which will focus on the following points [add the points]. Please remember this email is intended to reach [mention your target audience], so write accordingly. And finally, add this call to action [write your CTA here].

I hope the prompt generation formula. Now, tweak it according to your niche.

How to use ChatGPT for Content Marketing?

Well, we have already shared the foundational strategy to correct prompting. Now, let’s give some ideas on how to use ChatGPT for content marketing. Okay, let’s explore them one by one:

Content Ideas in line with the stages of Content Marketing

Generally, a content marketing funnel is divided into four stages: Awareness, Evaluation, Engagement, and Engage. It will give a list of ideas apt for each stage of the funnel in line with the expectations of your audience.

Keyword research

The other day, I asked my SEO friend about her most challenging task. Guess the reply? It was keyword research. But with ChapGPT, you can create ample keywords within a second.

End Note – Point to be Noted

The success of content marketing through ChatGPT boils down to ONE thing – humanizing your content, which covers – fact-checking, humanizing the tone and style, and making it sound like a human response.

Another important thing is checking for plagiarism and keeping your response free from buzzwords.

Pro Tip: Add the right prompt, and re-prompt until you get satisfactory results. Then, humanize it and add your unique voice.

I hope you found the answer you were looking for. That’s it for today. Happy content marketing!
